Monoprinting Day – Saturday 19th February

After a worrying start to the day due to no power at Long Load, which necessitating an amazing re-organisation by Kate Holland, the printing day started by candle light at Kate’s own home. Luckily Kate’s power came back on and we were up and running. And running those participating certainly did, on average each person created between 20 – 25 prints, some, if mine were anything to go by, were better than others, but all were a wondrous voyage of discovery! It also proved to be a fast activity, where it can take hours, or even days/weeks to create a work of art, here we had the finished item in minutes, ready to improve it or move on if it didn’t work.

Jackie Curtis was an excellent tutor, doing many individual demos which inspired us to try yet another new and different idea or direction. Many thanks to her for being so flexible, helpful and fun! Her work can be seen at www.jcurtis.com ours is in the attached pictures.
