We are a group of about 60 people, all with a common interest in art. Some of us paint, some print, some draw, some just like looking. We are based in Somerton, in south Somerset, which is a growing village, centred around on the beautiful Market Place. It has an established community of artists and craftspeople.
We hold a thriving programme of art-related events and social activities, where all are welcome. These are all free for members.
Most months we meet on the second Wednesday from 7.30–9.30pm in the Parish Rooms in Somerton. The programme includes talks and demonstrations by professional artists, with a break for tea, coffee, biscuits and a chat. During the Autumn and Winter some members also meet at the village hall in nearby Long Load on a Tuesday morning to paint and draw among friends.
During the Summer months we organise a painting outdoors programme and a couple of times a year we have ‘painting together days’ in the Parish Rooms, usually on a Saturday. We hold an annual exhibition in Somerton.
The emphasis is on enjoying ourselves and our art. Annual membership is £25.00, but do come along and try one of our meetings as a taster session.
