We are a group of about 60 people, all with a common interest in art. Some of us paint, some print, some draw, some just like looking. We are based in Somerton, in south Somerset, which is a growing village, centred around on the beautiful Market Place. It has an established community of artists and craftspeople.
We hold a thriving programme of art-related events and social activities, where all are welcome. These are all free for members.
From September to May we meet on the second Wednesday of the month from 7.30–9.30pm in the Parish Rooms, here in Somerton. The programme includes talks and demonstrations by professional artists, with a break for tea, coffee, biscuits and a chat. During this period, some members also meet at the village hall in nearby Long Load on a Tuesday morning to paint and draw among friends.
During the Summer months we run a programme which can include day-time sessions as well as Painting Together days in the Parish Rooms and Somerton during the month of August.
The emphasis is on enjoying ourselves and our art. Annual membership is £20.00, but do come along and try one of our meetings as a taster session.
