Somerton Urban Sketching

Lovely to see so many of us turning out to brave an uncertain weather forecast for our sketching morning in Somerton. The sun shone as we drank our morning coffee together outside the Buttercross Tea Rooms. Then we dispersed  to get on with the business of sketching.

Some inspired drawing locations were found from need to dodge those rain showers. Sketchers were to be seen all around the market square, the churchyard, in parked cars, on benches, under the Hay Market and in Ace Arts gallery space. Most of us decided that ‘less was best’ and used a simple sketch book with pen/pencil. Newcomers and old timers got down to some productive drawing and shared tips. Nb. I can highly recommend my lightweight, padded, walkers seat mat, if sitting on a cold surface.😇
Thank you to Ace Arts where we regrouped and enjoyed the exhibition “Drawn from the West”
