Kate Lynch gave a fascinating talk to members giving the background to her latest book, ‘Craft – Somerset Portraits and Voices’.  She described  meeting  different Somerset craftspeople from blacksmiths to stonemasons and thatchers to hedge layers – 30 individuals in all. They told Kate their stories while she sketched them in the course of their work. Kate’s book contains these stories along with their portraits created in charcoal, oils and pastels. 

After relating some of the stories, Kate gave a demonstration of her mastery of charcoal drawing. A very enjoyable evening.
