30 members met in the Parish Rooms to watch a demonstration by Mandy McAllen.
Mandy, a member of the SGA, is a professional artist and loves to experiment in her
art and uses many different techniques. Last night she demonstrated the use of black
gesso on board, overpainting it with white and then using foil and cling film to
produce beautifully varied textures and patterns. Mandy then uses these patterns as a
base for her inspiration to produce beautiful and magical paintings. Examples of her
paintings were passed round the audience who were given many tips to use in their
own artwork.
