12 enthusiastic artists,- members and non members enjoyed 6 sessions of exploration, experimentation, and” messing about” with acrylic paints, with guidance from Mandy McAllen.

Topics covered included; colour mixing, applying paint over a textured gesso base, and with a sponge, with painting knives, with brushes, and with ratty old brushes, (which should have been thrown away) saved for fur effects. Bold gestural brushmarks, looking for colour and tone in white objects, and painting animal fur.

Acrylic is a versatile medium, and with so many ways to use it ,the course focussed not on what you paint but how you paint it.
