Kate Lynch ran an inspirational and very creative workshop which left us all feeling extremely relaxed and contented and a great way to spend a Saturday! She encouraged us to let go of any preconceived drawings of houses, animals or people and to just put down markings in charcoal using different styles with our eyes closed! This allowed us not to take ownership of what we were drawing but to be involved in a shared collaboration of fun, freedom and creativeness.
In the afternoon we created our own piece of work from photographs that she distributed. We all had different interpretations and used our imagination to create mini-masterpieces in charcoal! She also demonstrated (on request) how to draw a sheep using light and negative spaces.
The resulting images speak for themselves! Thank you Kate.
